Demand-Driven Acquisitions (DDA)

Enhance your collection development workflow today with the first and only multi-vendor demand-driven acquisitions program in the industry. Choose to receive the first ebook available from your preferred choice of aggregator partners and build your consideration pool based on profiled, or all, available aggregator content.

Process:

Your library's profile can be used to designate subject areas for inclusion in its demand-driven plan. On a weekly basis, YBP supplies discovery records for digital titles that match your unique profile in order to build a growing "consideration pool" of eligible titles. Patrons can discover the records in your library's catalog, and the embedded URL directs them to our aggregator partners' portals for free browsing, short-term loans and purchases.

Highlights:

  • Additional titles can be manually added to your DDA repository on a title by title basis
  • Free browse period
  • Short-term loans
  • Duplication control
  • Basic and enhanced cataloging records
  • Usage statistics available
  • Activity and expenditure reports in GOBI3 (Global Online Bibliographic Information)

For an overview of the new DDA features, watch a brief tutorial here. In order to view the video, you'll need Adobe Flash Player. Access the latest version for free here.
