Key Products

Linguistics:
Atlas of North American English

Selected as a CHOICE Outstanding Academic Title, the Atlas of North American English provides the first overall view of the pronunciation and vowel systems of the dialects of the U.S. and Canada. The Atlas re-defines the regional dialects of American English on the basis of sound changes active in the 1990s and draws new boundaries reflecting those changes. It has been developed by Bill Labov, one of the leading sociolinguists of the world, together with his colleagues Sharon Ash and Charles Boberg. The Atlas consists of a printed volume accompanied by an interactive CD-ROM. The print and multimedia content is also available online.

Religious Studies:
Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception

The Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception (EBR) pursues a twofold task. First, it comprehensively renders the current state of knowledge on the origins and development of the Bible according to its different canonic forms in Judaism and Christianity. Second, it documents the history of the Bible's reception, not only in the Christian churches and the Jewish Diaspora, but also in literature, art, music, and film, as well as Islam and other religious traditions and current religious movements. The EBR is available in both print and online formats.

Classical Studies:
Bibliotheca scriptorum Graecorum et Romanorum Teubneriana (BT)

The "Bibliotheca Teubneriana" (BT), which was founded in 1849, is the oldest and most comprehensive collection of critical editions of the texts of Greek and Roman authors. In the last century, Byzantine as well as middle and new Latin works were added to the classical and late antique repertoire. Some 4-5 new editions are planned every year.

Philosophy:
Friedrich Nietzsche Werke: Kritische Gesamtausgabe

The Kritische Gesamtausgabe Werke (KGW) - Critical Edition Collected Works - contains all texts written in Nietzsche’s youth and those published during his lifetime as well as his posthumous works. To each of the nine sections a supplement is added; over 50 volumes in total are scheduled for publication.

Library & Information Science:
IFLA Publications

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the information profession. The series IFLA Publications deals with many of the means through which libraries, information centers, and information professionals worldwide can formulate their goals, exert their influence as a group, protect their interests, and find solutions to global problems.
