This set is the definitive reference work on poetry and poets. It covers 845 poets throughout history, with greater depth and scope than any other resource. And, for 2011, it has been organized into five subsets by geography and essay type so that libraries can select the material most needed for their reference collections.
The subsets are arranged alphabetically. Essays begin with data on dates and places of birth and death, and a list of "Principal Poetry." Next is an overview of "Other Literary Forms" a list of "Achievements," and a brief "Biography." "Analysis" discusses the poet's work and examines several poems. The subsets are as follows:
