On October 1 2010, the University of the West Indies Press first opened its doors as the first university press in the Caribbean. Since its inception the Press has published over 300 high-quality books in thirteen academic disciplines and is particularly well known for its lists in Caribbean history, Caribbean cultural studies, Caribbean literature, gender and economics. The Press's books reflect the rich complex diversity of the region and cover various countries in the anglophone, francophone, Spanish and Dutch Caribbean.
