The B.E.S.T. of E-STREAMS SAMPLE TITLES What is E-STREAMS? E-STREAMS is a monthly electronic reviewing source, a collaborative venture between H. Robert Malinowsky, University of Illinois at Chicago, and YBP Library Services, in its seventh year, covering new books in science, engineering, medicine, and agriculture. The reviewers of these titles are individuals who have subject expertise throughout the United States and Canada. B.E.S.T. - Best E-STREAMS Science and Technology The B.E.S.T. list identifies titles that have been reviewed in E-STREAMS, and which have been recognized as outstanding books, or the B.E.S.T. of the best. In order to be considered for the B.E.S.T. list, a book needs: uniqueness subject breadth content depth timeliness of the topic Also, considered are the reputation/authority of the author, size and diversity of the potential audience, and the geographic scope. The reviewers rely on the reviews written by the E-STREAMS reviewers and/or firsthand handling of the book. All 250 reviewers are given the opportunity to nominate books for the Committee to consider. The Committee then votes on the nominations and the top 10 are selected, beginning with this first list.
