Over the years, YBP Library Services, the academic division of Baker & Taylor, has added resources to meet the ever-changing needs of the libraries we serve. Continuing in this tradition, YBP formed a new team, the Library Support Center (LSC). Its mission is to serve as a communications hub for distributing information to YBP’s and Baker & Taylor’s community of customers. The LSC works with the YBP sales team in addition to YBP and B&T customer service staff in New Hampshire and Illinois.

Librarians are busier than ever and are constantly inundated with information. They’re faced with tighter budgets, fewer staff, and ever-increasing demands for time and information. We fully recognize that our customers need to be aware of new services that can help better serve patrons, but have little time to meet face to face with sales representatives and research new services.
One product of the LSC is the Community College Center website, www.ybpccc.com. The website is designed to serve the unique needs of YBP and Baker & Taylor’s community college market, bringing together the essential components of selection resources and industry news. By offering the entire collection of YBP and Baker & Taylor’s products and services, the website is also relevant to small academic libraries.
Originally launched in February 2003, the website boasts an enriched collection of selection resources, articles, interviews, and helpful product and service tips. A popular website feature is the custom selection lists. Many times, these lists are a result of customer requests, so they represent a wide range of subjects. Another frequently visited section, Did You Know, includes helpful tips on our products and systems.
