Futurotextiel: Surprising Textiles, Design & Art is the exhibition catalog for a show of the same name held in Kortrijk, Belgium in 2008. It outlines the current trends in textiles for clothing, medicine, sports and industrial use. The development of these materials takes into account sustainable development and biomimicry -- copying methods that animals use to adapt to their environments.

The book is broken down into nine areas of textile utility with examples and photos of each. Some of the sections are for textiles that provide protection, interactive textiles, medical textiles, architectural textiles, etc. Each part has a brief write up about the uses of the textiles and what future developments might be. These passages are followed by five or six pages of photographs with brief descriptions of each item.

The book has an index of contributing artists and sponsors, many with web sites. The text is in English, French and Dutch.
