Core 300 (UK)

To complement the YBP Library Services Core 1000 list, bibliographers in the UK are pleased to make available the CORE 300 list below, which is designed to help academic libraries in the ongoing development of their collections, specifically as an aid in identifying the best British titles of the previous quarter or year.

The UK Core 300 list is produced using the same methods as YBP uses when creating the list of titles profiled in the U.S., involving our subject-specialist bibliographers to select these titles from the new academic titles published in the UK. Each quarter, with book-in-hand, bibliographers in the UK will select 75 titles, which they consider to be core for academic library collections. The selection will be made from the complete UK publishing base and will cover all subjects. The four quarterly lists of 75 titles will be combined in February and form the Core 300 for the previous year; to be made available on May 1st of each year.

All of the titles on the Core 300 list are available from our UK office. If you do not currently use our services, please contact your customer service bibliographer-liaison to make the necessary arrangements to set up an account. If you prefer not to have a separate UK account, YBP can provide coverage for titles that are distributed in North American or they can import the titles from our UK office.
