Children's Awards Program

The Children's Awards Book Collection Plan is an automatic acquisitions program for libraries developing a core collection of award winning children's books. It is also a convenient selection tool for libraries without a children's literature specialist to acquire quality children's books. The YBP Children's Awards Plan encompasses standard prizes such as the Newbery and Caldecott Medals; a large number of multi-cultural awards such as the Coretta Scott King and Tomas Rivera awards; and international awards from Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, and New Zealand such as the Aurealis, Bisto, Kate Greenaway, and Costa awards.

A library may subscribe to the Awards Plan at any time by filling out the Profile Specifications form and sending it to us by fax, mail or e-mail.

We will assign a unique account number for new children's awards plans. According to the library's Profile Specifications, we will supply award winning titles automatically upon announcement of the new recipients each year. Libraries may also opt for full shelfready processing.

YBP closely monitors shipments to avoid sending duplicate copies of: titles winning multiple awards, or titles shipped on a library's approval, firm order, standing order, or UK accounts.
