Key Reviews
Ensure timely coverage of high-profile books via YBP’s Key Reviews Service.
YBP Bibliographers carefully monitor a number of publications to compile information on newly-reviewed titles.
YBP sends Reviews titles as automatic book shipments or as title notifications, to be used for later orders. Review information is also noted in GOBI3® records for easy searching and retrieval. Reviews coverage can be added to a library’s existing approval or notification slip plan or can be set up as a separate service. Libraries may elect coverage for any or all Review sources, and can further shape coverage for specific subcategories such as fiction, nonfiction, university presses, or trade presses.
YBP checks Review shipments for duplication against YBP firm order, approval, awards, and continuations shipments, and will prevent duplication for titles reviewed in multiple sources.
Libraries wishing to receive shelfready titles may also opt for cataloging and physical processing of Review titles.
YBP’s Key Reviews Service covers the following publications:
Globe and Mail (7-15 titles/week)
Nature (3-4 titles/week)
New York Review of Books (12-15 titles/week)
New York Times Book Review (22-27 reviews/week; 5-7 best sellers/week)
New Yorker (4-5 titles/week)
San Francisco Chronicle (10-12 titles/week)
Science (3-4 titles/week)
