Baker & Taylor and YBP Cataloging Services with OCLC
Are you looking for a convenient way to get MARC data from Baker & Taylor or YBP Library Services into your system? In an effort to help cataloging for libraries; we work with OCLC to offer the PromptCat service. This service provides a seamless, streamlined transfer of order data from Baker & Taylor and YBP to OCLC three times a day; this will link your order information to the WorldCat database.
In conjunction with PromptCat, you might decide to add more OCLC Cataloging services to your Baker & Taylor and YBP accounts. You have the ability to add the OCLC number to your MARC records as well as embed other local data. This will eliminate the need to search for cataloging records by receiving the best available OCLC record when your material is shipped. If a title is linked to the WorldCat database you would be able to see the OCLC number within GOBI and Title Source 3 and when you download or export records from GOBI or Title Source 3 the OCLC number will be in the record. The last part of the process will have your holdings symbol automatically set in WorldCat.
