Publisher Lists
Client Letter – Winter 2012

Dear Librarian:

We are pleased to offer you our latest list of publisher additions to the YBP Approval Plan program.

This is the second publisher list update since YBP acquired Blackwell North America, and as you all may be aware, generally twice a year we review requests for coverage of new presses from you. We also consider adding publishers that have shown strong sales demand through AP Plus and our non-approval channels. Those presses that publish more than a handful of titles annually, publish titles that we know librarians want to collect, and are reliable partners, will be strongly considered for addition to our list.

Each new imprint is described briefly, summarizing its subject focus and annual output, and we’ve included their web addresses so you can review their offerings and get a sense for how well they match your collection criteria.

We will begin covering these publishers under the specifications of our customers’ subject profiles and customer specifications for new publishers. For most of our libraries this will mean notification slip coverage. Please contact your Bibliographer-Liaison (service@ybp.com) if you wish to modify coverage.

This time we’ve added a solid group of trade presses, as well as two associations with related specialties in soil science and agriculture. The trade presses cover a broad range of the sciences, arts, and humanities, and include specific focuses on nursing; hospitality; leisure and tourism; and the Franciscan movement.

We have also listed imprints that have been dropped from our Approval Plan program and updates on presses we already cover.

We believe our coverage is extremely broad, but we continue to look for good, new presses to add. If there are publishers you and your colleagues would like to collect via your approval plan please notify your sales (sales@ybp.com) or customer service representative (service@ybp.com). We will strongly consider any recommendations.

Sincerely,

Nat Bruning
Vice President of Operations and Publisher Relations
